Brian Everett Miller (b. Pittsburgh, 1976) is an American painter, illustrator, pianist, composer, and electronic musician.  His paintings and illustrations are made up of surrealist portraits and figurative narratives ranging from the playful and absurd to the mysterious and dreamlike.  His work has been published, exhibited, and collected throughout the United States and abroad.

As a musician, Miller uses custom built electro-acoustic instruments, manipulated audio, synths, piano, guitar, and voice to compose and perform electronic music and ambient soundscapes under the moniker HELD BY MACHINES.  He also contributes music to various television and film projects.
