Brian Everett Miller (b. Pittsburgh, 1976) is a visual artist, writer, and musician.  His artwork consists of imaginary portraits and figurative illustrations ranging from the playful and absurd to the mysterious and dreamlike.  As a writer, he spins absurdist yarns, comical short stories, and other alt-world fiction, publishing under the name b.e. miller.  He creates music under the moniker HELD BY MACHINES, using custom built electro-acoustic instruments, manipulated audio, synths, piano, guitar, and voice to compose and perform electronic music and ambient soundscapes, and has contributed music to various television and film projects.  His work has been published, exhibited, and collected throughout the United States and abroad.
